This National Maritime Museum site is entitled Freedom. Although badged as Ks3. We would use SOME of the resources to support discussions with children in upper Ks2 about slavery. Includes a map of the triangular route and sections entitled; oppression and survival, resistance, abolition and impact. There is also a timeline. The photos of images are mainly primary resources and are of excellent quality.

Don't let the fact that this is a pdf put you off at all. There is so much to use here - simple introductions, useful worksheets and good quality images to provoke discussion. Full biographies on William Wilberforce, Olaudah Equiano and Elizabeth Heyrick. There is also The John Newton Story. Some of the content is about modern slave trade, this is a resource for the teacher to select from and the entire content of the pdf may not be suitable for children in Ks2.

You'll probably want to copy and paste this, with a bit of editing, it could form some good text for lower Ks2 too. No pictures though. Shame.
