Free teacher web sites for Design and Technology topic ‘Shelters’
There is a clause in your union membership that requires all true militants to build a shelter outside the school where they can rally the troops and make a last stand during a strike. Perhaps you're hear to work out your own shelter building strategy, or maybe you're just teaching KS2 about shelters and want some cracking Interactive whiteboard resources. Whatever your reasons, you've arrived, safe and dry, at last!
Rather useful little selection of nets to print onto card. Also a great selection of eclectic links about the shelters including a first-hand account of their use. So would easily support History WWII as well...

Downloadable Flash activity and lesson plan. Strong point is the many photos included, weak point is that there are 'annotation tools' built in which are a bit flaky. But still useful (or we wouldn't list it!)

Selection of shelters for humans. Includes a lesson plan and photos. From site: This activity is designed for pupils to think about and investigate shelters using a set of 11 photographs. It should help pupils when they are designing and making their own structure for a specific purpose. Pupils should try to answer questions for each photograph.
