Whether you are teaching about energy conservation, recycling, eco schools or climate change - you can do your bit, and here's were it all starts.
It is a multimedia resource for geography, citizenship and science which is organised into three sections: Learn, Investigate and Act.
Learn find out about climate change and how it is already affecting young people around the world.
Investigate focus on how energy use at home and at school is linked to climate change.
This resource supports Ks2 lessons on climate change. It's based on Welsh issues, so some ideas will need a little adapting if you are unlucky enough to be teaching in England!
Quite substantial resource from WMNET. Children have the chance to hear about the effects of climate change and do three activities (they call them games) that model ways of reducing CO2 emissions in everyday life.
Great ideas for green thinkers! Why not become an eco school?
A great site to explore recycling for lower KS2. Fairly text based but still very useful.
There's a wealth of activities - our favourite is 'guess the symbols' game and also the virtual recycling game which would also neatly fit into a Science topic on sorting materials.
For upper KS2, this site gives tips on recycling. The activities are for practical ideas which can be tried.
This wonderful BBC website deals wit traffic, rubbish, reduce, reuse, recycle and also includes missions to complete. Great for upper KS2.
